Remove Carpet Stain with Baking Soda and Vinegar Carpet stains can happen for a bunch of reasons pets, food, mud and the list just keeps on going. The best way to get a stain out of carpet is clear vinegar and baking soda. Vinegar is also a great deodorizer for your laundry to take out smells. First, put the vinegar into a spray bottle of some kind. Then open your baking soda and pour some of the baking soda onto the carpet. Be sure to rub the baking soda into the carpet then spray the vinegar until you see the foam start to bubble. Let that foam sit and work for a few minutes. Then use a hard brush and brush the stain back, forth, up and down until you can see most of the stain gone. You can wait for the stain to dry and vacuum over it or use a carpet cleaner while the spot is still damp. If the stain still presents do the same process a few more times after the spot is dry to remove your stain.
